whats the most boost you've seen on a stock b series engine?
Well basically what the topic says... i'm thinking about going turbo again and I know tuning is a BIG part of it... what setups have you seen that boosted that much? TIA

Ive seen 33psi, it lasted about 4 minutes from startup until the burnout box.

I think there is a little difference as to which B series you mean. From what I understand a LS will take a little more psi than a GSR based on the lower comp ratio of the LS. You are right tuning is huge!

most of the people making alot of power on stock engines are running thicker headgaskets anyways...

althought its pretty small boost, its decent hp - st00pid tuned a t3/60-1 at 7 or 8 psi on an itr motor in a hatch and made 283 whp i think it was.

thanks guys I've got a b16 and i've gone turbo before and I want to go turbo again. My friend says he's getting a DSM so he can whoop on me all day and I know I can take him it just depends on what setup I can do soon.... Thanks guys

The most i've done is 20 on a stock b16 block, w/stock H/G,nuforms B/G,ARP head studs, never tuned on a dyno just on the street and the 1320, Everyone talks about tuning tuning tuning, whatever. If you feel a flat spot at 7000 add some fuel, if you add to much it will spudder, as far as timing goes give your car as much as you can until the head rattles. go to a safe place and stand on it for a couple gears, and if the plugs look alright your done. If you dont know what a healthy motor sounds like and feels like dont put a turbo on your car. I dont care how built your block is and who tuned your car if you dont know whats going on in there its only time before you **** it up. Which is alright everyone has to start somewhere. I like throwing alot at a motor and i also enjoy fixing it after i break it.

im sure there are 500 whp cars that had stock motor, they just dont last for very long at all.
typically id say w/ a nice setup you could achieve 350 whp and the stock motor last for quite awhile

Being in the 300 club is kinna what i'm shooting for. But i'm also looking to keep it somwhat reliable.... What size turbo would be good... I've had a super 60 before as well as a kkk k27 from a porsche. The super 60 spooled pretty fast but lacked the top end and the k27 took a little while to spool (about 4500) and then it was just krazy.... So what is a decent rpm range to get full boost at? Thanks again
