i have the same questions, so i dont think i'll make a new thread about it. lol
i have a stock gsr and have a sc61 in the mail coming. should be here friday. it's just about the last thing i need (other than real fuel management). i have a few boosted cousins, so they somewhat guide me along the way.
anyways, will a sc61 be too big? i'll be running it on a stock gsr. fuel management will just be a 10:1 fmu and 255 walbro fuel pump. one guy told me that i shouldn't boost more than 6.5psi with fmu because the fmu wouldn't respond fast enough for the spool of the sc61. a few others just say that it's too big and it'll lag.
i know i should really run better fuel management, but i'm starting to run short on cash, so i'd perfer to install what i have now and run it until the next couple months when i can get uberdata.
so what's the truth? push the sc61 or get a smaller turbo? this will be my daily driver too.

Well running the FMU and a SC61 will make you short on cash and a motor short too, get a real fuel management system then install the turbo
Im also looking into getting a sc series for my b18b1 but not sureof which one to get, either the sc44 or the sc61

Well, how much boost are you running and it doesnt seem like your ls is stock bore?
If it possible for me to hit full boost (16-18 psi) on my stock bore ls before 5k then im difinitely going with the SC61, but i heard some people need to go up to about 5.5k and there aint much **** left in the ls red line

if you do in fact reach full boost on an ls with an sc61.. im assuming stage 3 .63ar hotside. and im assuming 7-10psi
makes me wonder how an sc61 would perform on my built b20/vtec.....

^ i personally thin at 6.5psi.. on a stock motor, the potential of the sc61 is really wasted.. not to mention i wouldnt run any car on an fmu.
so give me your sc61 and go get a t3/t04e
most people run at least uberdata or hondata. something with more control than an fmu
