im looking to make 650-675 on c16 and looking for 500-550 on 93 oct.
this is going to be a street/strip car/weekend car
well for the past couple of weeks ive been trying to figure out what turbo i should use for my set up as follows:
ls vtec 84mm sleeved block
cnc ported gsr head
skunk2 pro 1 cams
ferrea valves, springs, retainers,
eagle rods
10:1 mahle pistons
topmount manifold
golden eagle intake manifold
68mm throttle body
dual 255 fuel pumps
1600cc injectors
hondata s300
comp. twin disc clutch
ls transmission

ive been considering a few turbos but cant make my mind up. gt37, s362, 366, gt35, t67ho

these 3 turbos would be your best choices IMO. 6265, gt35r. s366

i like the gt35r the most i just wonder if it can make the 675 im looking for? im sure it would if they made it in the gtx model, but that wont be out until next year. i dont care for precision turbos, so its pretty much a garrett or borg. how is the s362 on the street?

im not going to get into why i dont like precision. i would just like to stick with borg or garrett. im also open to other suggestions then what ive stated if someone has had a good experience with a different turbo

The 35R will max around 700-750whp, I would use that or an S362. The 6262/6265 would work, but if you arent a fan of Precision I wont recommend them.

If this were my setup, i would run the S366 or S366XL. They're good turbos with proven track records and will make the power you want

Do you know anyone that has made over 650whp with a 35r?

Have you been in a car with a s366? How responive is it?
I know the gt35 is pretty nice on the street.

Precision PTE 67HPQ! Unreal turbo, there is a thread in the drag racing section it.

I personally ran a t67ho, loved it as well, made 700@28psi with more left in the turbo! But the new precision billet wheels are gnarley

Its more responsive than you might think after seeing it under the hood. The BW S3xx series turbos are absolute monsters (in the sense that they're large and heavy). I haven't ridden in a GT35r car so i have no basis for comparison. Furthermore, with any large frame turbo like this, responsiveness isn't the first quality that comes to mind when boosting a sub-2.0 liter, but i understand it is a concern. You can try PMing TheShodan...i'm sure he's had experience with both turbos

I am building almost the same exact setup and I am at the stage of purchasing the turbo. I found someone selling a s362 on the bay for 900, although he will sell it for 800. He states it is brand new and it looks brand new as it was only mounted on the car but never left the garage. I would also like to know if the s362 would good for 600-650 on pumpgas with almost the same exact setup as the OP. Sorry if I need to start another thread but this one is so close to what I want and am doing. The only difference is I have the tuner 2 series cams from skunk and 1000cc injectors.

Garrett t67ho has searved me well for 2 years and still rolling, but this spring I am switching to a ball bearing version. aka GT37r just for the water cool center.

Precision did use Garrett cartridges at one time, but they dont anymore and havent for awhile(there are some exceptions, like 42R based turbos).
