Default What should definately be new on a turbo setup?

Im trying to save money and getting some used parts for my turbo setup. I hope to get a lot from you guys here at honda-tech.

What is ok to get used and what should be new?

I am getting a new turbo, no exceptions.

I wouldn't buy a used wastegate, but that's just me.

I think there is no point in buying a used wastegate, i got my tial 38mm brand new for like 185. Oil feed lines don't really go bad, neither does charge piping, exhaust, and a well-buit manifold...
Fuel injectors can be cleaned and balanced to as good as new. . .

you never really know what your getting when you buy something used no matter what it is. but one thing is for sure, i would never buy anything fuel related used. no fuel is a very bad thing, and you do not want to learn the hard way. its expensive

nothing needs to be new really. used everything. whats wrong with a used turbo if the price is dirt cheap? if it works, hey great. if it doesn't, it was cheap anyways, just need to rebuild it. everything else you can pretty much do a visual or pressure test on.

The only things that are new on my turbo system are the pipes (which I made) and the vacuum hoses. Even the turbo is used, and not rebuilt. Works fine. You just need to know the precise condition when you buy it, including condition of the seals and amount of shaft play. A used turbo can easily be better than a DIY rebuild.

my setup is all used or rebuilt. rebuilt turbo, used (but cleaned, balanced, and flow tested) injectors, used AFC, Used P28 that I chipped and uber-tuned, used BOV. only thing new was the intercooler, and the manifold/charge pipes/DP which I built.

save money, don't cut corners, good motto for a turbo setup.
