What exaclty does a wastegate do?
I just bought a Tial wastegate and it is rated at the .45 bar which is like 6.5 psi. So what u guys are saying is that i cant run lower that 6.5 psi of boost. What about adjusting the wastegate a little ( turnning the wastegate). Is that possible to adjust boost or do u need a boost controller period.
Boost controllers allow you to boost more than the wastegate's spring. To run less boost, you have to replace the wastegate spring with with one that is rated at a lower pressure.
Another quick question: Can the internal wastegate spring in a TD05 (the one in the greddy kit) be replaced? What are the pros / cons to having an internal vs. and external wastegate? Thanks.
