Default what ecu to run?

my friends got a 92 hatch with a 96 gsr motor and turbo. runs great, but throws alot of codes. he has a odbII ecu, with one o2 sensor right behind the down pipe.does he need to swap to a odbI ecu? if he does, does he need to swap anything else out besides the ecu to make it run right? please help, thanks

get a 94-95 gsr ecu and make sure all the extra wires have been added.

he'll need an obd1 p72 ecu like sgt said, and an obd2 to obd1 jumper harness.(available from hondata or skunk2)

so besides the obd1 ecu and a jumper harness, it should plug in and run fine, right?

its a 92 civic. he wont need the harness.
you just have to make sure the vtec, and other things are wired up.

the car runs great. vtec works fine. but the ecu throws codes # 1, 10. just more often than he would like. sometimes it goes to safety mode, but most of the time it don't. any suggestions? thanks

code 1 = primary O2 sensor unplugged
Code 10 = defective/unplugged IAT(air temp) sensor.

check those out.

just buy a DFI it will solve all your problems

i checked all his sensors, they looked alright, and were plugged in. so do ya'll think if i changed ecu's it might cure his code problem?
