replaced ecu now 4 CEL codes...
i just switched out my obd1 ecu to a obd2 ecu a p72 for my gsr swap and i have 4 check engine codes one for the "IAC valve" one for the "knock sensor 1 bank 1" "ckp sensor no signal" and "o2 heater ckt 1/2" what do these problems mean can some 1 help!!!!

mayb u have a defective ecu?? did u try a diff ecu... this happened to me...my pr3 was throwing codes and id replace the parts and it still throw codes!! finally after running out of ideas i switched ecu just to see and they stopped!!! i felt like a dumbass!!!! somex u get defective ecus...try resetting ure ecu 1st....and if that dont work borrow or buy new ecu and see

This shows how to convert a JDM motor but the basics are the same. You need to make the OBD2A P72 ECU you should be using very happy. Which means all of the listed sensors need to be there and working properly. Secondary O2 sensor with a working cat, CKF sensor, purge solenoid, knock sensor, etc Since you have a GSR you will need to have functioning secondary butterflies and since your car was swapped to OBD1 with the engine swap I doubt any of that stuff was connected.

Do you know how to read? This was a quote from your other thread.
When WHOEVER did your swap they never connected those sensors because they just gave you a conversion harness and an OBD1 ECU because they were lazy and didn’t connect the proper OBD2 ECU and related sensors, which is a bitch to get working properly. If you notice all of the DTCs you have are for sensors I mentioned.
You need to read and search on how to connect or trick those sensors. All of which has been covered to death on this forum. If you read and fully understand these 2 links I'm posting you should not have a single question.

alright thanks but then again my car does idle funny and it was a obd1 so i think some of the things were disconnected?
