Default What do i do???..............................another tuning question

I have been lookin around at all the different possiblities for tuning. I narrowed it down to Crome w/ an Ostrich and i was going to do the tuning myself. I was going to have to buy a wideband and learn how to tune all of that myself. I just called one of the local shops and i guess they do tuning now, so i don't know what to do.

If i get it tuned and he uploads a .bin onto a chip on my ECU, then i don't have to buy an Ostrich or a chip burner or a wideband...right??? I was kinda looking forward to tuning myself, but on the other hand, i know this will be done correctly. So what do i need to buy if i am giong to have a shop tune my car?

It is probably an easy question, but thanks for the help....i need it

pretty much if a shop is tuning for you, all you would need is an ecu that is chipable

Did you specifically ask the shop what kind of systems they tune? Just cause a shop says they "do tuning" that doesn't mean they'll know what to do with the Crome program or if they have the correct hardware or not. Ask them what kind of EMS they are used to tuning...dont ask them if they can tune Crome. Because if you ask them then they'll be like "uhhh...yah sure we tune Crome", cause some places will tell you anything to get your business.

Yea, if they do uberdata/crome tuning, then all you need is the chipped ecu and you are good to go.

yeah he said that he can tune on Crome or Uber....i'm going to tune on Crome. I think that i'm going to save quite a bit of money just letting him do it, and hopefully i can learn how to do it when he's tuning it.

There you go then. If you just take some notes off what he does and maybe ask some questions, hopefully he will be willing to answer them.
