Default boosting issue

i ran into a problem yesterday.
alright heres the application: stock gsr turbo on 10psi
and heres the problem: yesterday i was driving and i hit full boost goin around 100mph. as soon as i got up to around 7k rpm in third gear i think it was, my check engine light came on. i came to a stop and in neutral and my idle was terrible. the engine was making a loud noise and my throttle response was very poor. i shut the car off and waited a few minutes and then restarted it and it was back to normal with no CEL. since then everything seems to be fine but im jut wondering what exactly happened? my only guess would be that it sensed boost. also, it probabily doesnt matter but i just routed my dump tube to my downpipe earlier yesterday before that happened. anyone have any ideas on whats going on? thanks
Rob

small boost spike caused you to pass the voltage limitations on the MAP sensor and sent the ECU into limpmode, engine drives shitty afterwards cause its rich as hell......

before we can know about that... what kind of MAP sensor situation do you have? what ems? Hondata? map clamp? missing link?

boosting in high gear will cause all kinds of loading issues you wont experience in 3rd gear. 4th gear should be fine still, but 5th was not meant to be an acceleration gear. Loads the turbo significantly and causes boost issues (spiking included)

because you shut your car off and then it went back to normal we know it was not a mechanical issue...it was definitely electronic.

And since this electronic issue made your car run like ****, it was most likely your map sensors input.

btw what was the CEL?

sometimes you have to break it down for people because they arent "experienced" enough to understand how you came to your conclusion. Just running them through the logical steps they need to use to deduct what in fact is the problem when they are troubleshooting. but yeah I said the same **** you said. lol

a chip? I would get a hondata...chrome..neptune...uberdate etc. No reason why you should risk your engine with a bandaid MAP fix. my personal opinion.

if it happened this time then yeah...it will prolly happen again. Just resist doing 5th gear pulls until you get a hondata, chrome, neptune or such.

He said he was doing a third gear pull... not fifth gear. Honestly, I wouldn't be doing any types of "pulls" with a missing link.
