which wg sits higher.
ok which wastegate sits higher so i know what my hood clearance is. tial 38mm or a turbonetics deltagate? anyone ever see these two sitting next to one another?
Tial may be a little taller than the deltagate, but the Evolution and the Tial are the same height (compared the 2 on the last kit I did for a customer...working with hood clearance issues as well)
ok this is good news cause im bout to purchase a deltagate i just wanted to make sure it had more clearance first. thank you guys.
Tial will sit higher. But if you find some good deals and decide to get tial, just take the top screw/vacuum nipple on the top so it doesnt hit your hood. Also turbosmart makes wastegates that are pretty low in height.
well i just bought the deltagate. and im take the screw out the top to clear hood. its going on a ls with a drag manifold in a ef sedan

you made a huge mistake going with that gate over the tial.

yea agree ^^^^ all the way. I heard the deltagate has boost creep like no other wastegate. U may have been better off with an EGAY wastegate j/p
ok im not disagreeing here, but the deltagate isnt always at fault, again on the drag mani, it is the placement. and i never really saw creep til a 3" d.p.
30psi+ on our buick powered mustang for 4 years no problems, except breaking trannies.
to answer the o.p., on my eg, the tial sat up higher than the delta.

well i hope i dont have boost creep. but it will be ran on the minfold it was made for. with a drag dp as well. so i hope it wont have any issues. but if it clears my hood then i dont think i made a mistake. i dont want a hole rubbed into it.
ahhhh come on mikey, you got a bad attitude, brother!
back in the day (00-01) on my rev-hard kit. i was running on my ls long block, with 2.5inch dp/3inch exh and no cat, the boost would creep from 10-15 psi in every gear, and even more in 4th. using the deltagate. when we swapped to the tial 40, it had no problem holding steady.

no bad attitude, back in the day on my drag kit on my b16 it was solid at 10 psi all the time, drag 2.5 dp 3" exh no cat. got a sick deal on the tial, went to 17 psi, and then the clutch went, then got the little t3 turbo.
not arguing dave, just posting my personal exp.

even if I had minor fitment issues, I would go w/ the TiAL hands down. It's performance is unmatched, especially if you ever feel like blowing your engine and cranking up the boost.

how is it arguing when all i did was say i hope mine does just like the other guy stated his did. thats just hopefully wishing.
Deltagates DO SUCK. My friend is selling one, 35 bucks and it's yours. I would go with the turbo smart 38mm gate since it is just as short as the delta and has WAYYYYY better performance. Not only that, people normally sell them used for cheap because they were mislead to believe Tial is better and wanna "upgrade".
