its just this blowing, at this time is making me realize a few things. i know the car will be 1000xtimes better.
its just when school starts to get in the way its a pain in the ***.</TD></TR></TABLE>
school should never get in the way of a damn car.
school's WAY more important (and worthwhile) than a turbo ITR, or any car.
If you really want to get it up and running ASAP, why don't you pick up a LS shortblock, or some other B-series and put it together!
Also sell the wheels/tires. they're $$$$.

Hey trust me, from one college student to another I know where he's coming from. But I wouldn't drop school to work on a car, especially when I only have a year left.

Stop trying to make it faster and faster every time you have a problem. Fix the damn thing correctly, make it conservative and be happy that you have an ITR turbo or a car for that matter. Then once you have established a solid setup, slowly start making changes.

So are you saying he should swap in another stock shortblock? I don't think he should. If the sleeves are still good, I suggest a minor build, pistons, rods, hone, bearings.

Thats the key. Don't go all crazy to build an even crazier setup then now. Just keep it simple, choose the right parts once and call it good. If you don't have a daily beater, plan for the unexpected.

Man, you can pick up an old school Civic hatch or CRX for $1000. They run forever and you'll never have to worry about backup transportation.
Once I had a backup car, it made modding my other car a lot more fun. You're not constantly thinking "Man, if I break this thing, I'm gonna be screwed!".

my 240sx was an awesome beater for $600. looked like hell, but ran awesome and was a blast to drive. Then i got the idea to get a nice DD. Trucks are no fun. lol
I finally cracked a ring land in my d series the other day. It held for almost 50k miles on a stock motor turboed at 10-11 psi. It was beat on daily. I knew i was playing with fire, but i swapped in another short block and was back on the road in a week. So you should do what im doing. Build the block with the cracked ring land and still be able to daily drive your car. You can pick up an ls short block for dirt cheap. Just be easy on the car till you can get your built block done. At least you are back on the road this way with a running car.
