Either way you have to weld. Screw in is junk. Do it correctly and weld a square inch plate to the pan. Drill a hole. Bend a piece of round stock silicone hose. And done.

press on fitting then? i would weld on a 10AN fitting. but to be honest, i do not really want to weld it. i feel that there is a HIGHER risk of a leak with a weld, rather than a high quality screw-on with proper gaskets.

5 years experience, TIG, no leaks. I did one with a cheapo harbor freight flux cored easy MIG and it never leaked.

The best way I have done is a square inch plate about 1/8th inch thick welded to the pan. Drill the hole a touch bigger than the tubing slide it in, weld it and done. I'm just a DIY kinda guy. And i had the material.

3 weeks experience TIG welder, i suspect there WILL be leaks
i am a DIY kind of guy as well, which is why i am worried about the welds LOL. i am also doing hardlines on everything, so i need to be able to attach the aluminium tube to the pan somehow.

Get a turbo drain flange. Drill the three hole in the pan for the drain and two bolt holes. Be sure to use locking washers and high temp red lock tight. Also some high temp rtv for a good seal. Cheap quick and easy and will last forever. I did mine this way 7 years ago. Still running same pan and fitting never on e leaked

JB weld and a Ebay turbo...Sounds about right.
Anyhow. Welding will always be better in any case if dont correctly.
I use a moroso pan i actualy screwed the fitting into the drain location and then Tig'd it.
