Default The fitting that taps into the oil pan is just a pipe.

Like a straight 2inch pipe, thats suppose to be welded to the oil pan. Is this okay? i was looking at other peoples setups and theirs are like 45deg fittings...and screwed on and stuff.. but mine..its just a metal pipe. Thats what i have, for my revhard kit... is this cool? or no..? its also a thick rubber hose thats the return line, not a steel braid...

mine is a hose... did you say yours points out 2 inches straight? mine is about an inch. it should be setup so that oil does not get stuck/left in the return line.

I've got the revhard and the straight 2" pipe welded in the pan. I trimmed the pipe to fit the rubber hose on it though. I'd like to upgrade to a steel braided line though.

Yeah the pipe is fine. Ive had it that way for several years...its welded. Jb weld was not as durable for me and leaked.

The rubber hose though well I think you should be thinking about getting steel braid pretty soon.
Ive tried rubber hose (only temp for 3 months or so) and its just not as durable...you will see it will expand and get soft cause of the heat. It might eventually burst. The rubber hose should last for 6 months to a year unless it touches your exhaust then your done for.

My advice is just order some steel braid from summit or jegs and use a hacksaw and tape to cut it. Its either a -10 or -12. The hose comes with instructions to cut should only cost 20 bux or less for 3 feet.

I want to do the steel braided line, but the only question is how am I going to thread the pipes on the turbo and in the pan? They seem too small to hold the thread. I guess i should have skipped the rubber hose and threaded a hole in the pan and ran the line from the turbo to the pan that way. Live and learn.

Depends on who does the welding or how it's welded.
The first oilpan I had tapped it was about 3 inches on the outside and about 1/2 an inch on the inside... the weldjob was crappy though and it leaked, so I had another one retapped...

The one I have now was done real well, its welded flush mount on the inside, and I don't remember the measurement on the outside but it's about 2 inches and also welded... also I believe the hose fitting is 5/8th.

Good luck.

yeah, i think im gonna make it flush also..so i guess im gonna have to cut it short.. and have it at an angle.. i'm just gonna leave it with the rubber hose for now, and wrap with with some kind of a heatwrap thing..

leave a little over into the pan (maybe 1/2"). heatwrapping the rubber may shield it from some ambient heatsoak but it will still dry up and crack (eventually) from the heat cycling of the engine running and cooling.
