which wastegate spring to run? if ranging in psi

Right now i have the .6bar (8.7psi) spring in my tial wastegate. I plan on running up to 20psi, maybe more by turning up via boost controller.

.6bar is the least I want to run, i know how that works... I was just wondering if theres some kind of "rule" as to how far u can go over what the spring is for? For example, if I run 24psi will i need atleast 12psi spring? Or does it not matter.

i heard that double the spring rate is what you can boost, but im not too sure about that

If you want to run a lot of boost with a wastegate spring that is too soft, you will either not be able to acheive the high boost levels you want, or boost will drop at higher RPM's.

If you are planning to run 24psi if boost , I'd say you'll need at least a 14psi spring.

i've always heard you can run 120% of the spring rate. which means with an 8.7psi spring rate, the most you will be able to boost is just a little over 19psi. 19.14 to be exact with the calculation.
