HUH??!! Im gonna take a wild guess that your gonna run an external gate for 13psi..and still have an internal wastegate for 8psi. Well...if this is the question..then you'll still run 8psi.

Re: wastegate newbie question (Sohc Driver)
what im trying to imply is that i know if u have an externally gated 8psi spring and you boosted more than that i believe that the spring will give up... now lets say i boosted 8 psi on a 13 psi spring, from your reply you still going to boost 8psi... now does setup have any effect???

You can't boost lower than what the wastegate is set at. I caught what you are confused about...You have the misconception that if the wastegate is set at a certain psi..you can't go beyond that..this is false...your psi spring is telling you the minimum amount of boost that wastegate will put out.
(eg. If you have a 6 psi spring..you can boost anything beyond 6psi..but you can't go below 6....
If you have a 10psi spring..you can boost anything beyond 10...but you can't go below 10)
