Default wastegate keeps burning my hood

When I look under my hood my car always burns up my hood with the wastegate I was wondering if I can put something under the hood like a heat shield or cut through it. Any other Ideas

I hate to assume but I'm guessing it is because you do not have a dump tube on your wastegate. Have the dumptube made so that it points down and not towards your radiator or hoses. A pic of your setup will also help.

A heat shield is your best bet.

the gold foil works well but it isn't the cheapest stuff around, although you need such a small piece it shouldn't cost too much.

also dei now offers their lava/titanium wraps in adhesive backed sheets, we've had good results with it on our race car.

stay away from the cheap silver ****. the adhesive sucks and the bond between the material and adhesive is **** poor. it doesn't stand up to heat at all. after less than a month of track use the material was charred, it had pulled off of it's adhesive and the adhesive was cooked to what we stuck it to. I ended up having to bead blast the panels to get the adhesive off.

I have a dump tube facing down its just that when my wastegate gets hot it burns/melts the hood so the waste gate is always like blackish

I think I would've had a hood do that just once before I tried at least one thing out of desperation.
