waste gate question

Default waste gate question

i am redoing my setup and on very tight timing. i have to dyno sat. i have no time for fab of a dumptube. can i run the wastegate open? with no tube at all?
what do i do with that ring on the tial?

your going to have a very hot engine bay = bad

The main issue you're going to have with having the wastegate open like that is that depending on wastegate location you're going to be dumping a lot of the vented exhaust back right near the turbo, which will effect your tune anyways (air/fuel mixture). At this point if all you have to make is a dumptube that is pretty simple! I guess the only thing I could see taking tme is getting a flange for the wastegate in time? good luck, if anything, make something temporary to get the heat/exhaust out of there.

thanks for the help will be making something then. i see your point. i really wasent fond in doing this, just limited on time.
