Re: waste gate issue (CRXnorway)
to start off, the size wastegate is dependent on your set-up...
also i dont believe you can set the boost lower than the spring
Hondata is a good engine management

Re: waste gate issue (Drkaccrd)
well i have almost all the basic parts, but when i get enough money should i buy a sleeved shortblock. so when im waiting on that could i just drive getto style on my old motor. its real lame just to watch the turbo parts in a box at home and not under my hood so it will only be boosting 5psi on the stock engine..
i was wondering if the 38mm would e to small later

How much psi do you imagine your gonna run? Honestly, if you plan on running 15psi or even a little more just pistons and rods with a block guard should be fine. Get a good EMS and you should be straight .

Re: waste gate issue (CRXnorway)
Oh yeah no doubt. That wastegate is strong enough to hold 15psi and more ( cant remember how much ) as long as you dont cheap out a good fuel management system and build the motor with rods, pistons, block guard, a sleeved block is not be necessary.

Re: waste gate issue (Drkaccrd)
well, i think its better to invest in a sleeved block instead of going for a block guard
and hondata!!
but im not sure if i should just boost my current b16 when im waiting for a new block

Re: waste gate issue (CRXnorway)
Ok your choice. Why dont you ask other H-T members. A sleeved block, or built motor is just a waist of money if you dont invest in the proper fuel mangement. Especially if you plan on running 15psi or more. Noob mistake if you think a sleeved block is gonna save from blowing the motor. Ask anyone.........Your mistake man not mine.

Re: waste gate issue (Drkaccrd)
Drkaccrd is right. Most important thiing is good engine management and tune.
Forget the sleeve block thing, seriously. On a good tune, you can go up to around 450-500whp safely on stock sleeves. I'm pushing almost 350whp daily driven on stock sleeves forged rods/pistons.
U must bite the bullet and get good engine management. I know most people wanna skimp out on this part cause usually they save it for last, then don;t realize how ******* expensive it actually is. I know its hard with a box a parts staring at you but time and patience pay off.
Hondata, AEM EMS and I guess crome and uberdata are good. Motec if you got the $$
