Default vortech bov problems

i have the vortech bov on my revhard stage II kit. but it is not reacing 7 psi of boost, it's only getting about 3. someone told me the bov was leaking, that i need a new spring. is this true, and where can i purchase the spring from?

I have the same valve and would be very surprised if it was leaking at 7psi.

It was designed for very high boost and actually causes compressor surge on many cars because of the super stiff spring it comes with. I run mine with a much softer spring then it comes with @10psi in order to make it blow off clean until I run more boost.

I would guess you have a leak elsewhere or maybe the gasket on the bov is leaking. Also, If you have the turbosmart wastegate you might only get 3-4psi off the spring it comes with. a boost controler is your new buddy if thats the case.

I have the inner spring from a greddy type s and an outer from an industrial supply place near me. Why don't you fix your boost problem to see if it works at 7-8psi before messing with the vlave?

Sounds like a leak to me somewhere else. I have a vortech bov and I had no problems at all. You might have to adjust the top screw a lil just incase you have it set too soft.
