Default BOV spring??

would it be possible to swap out the spring from a Greddy Type S BOV and put it in their new Greddy Type-RS??

the RS is a slightly larger BOV - 37mm vs 40mm

thanks

why would you want to do that? type s spring was designed for a 37mm valve.. the rs is a 40mm vavle, the pring in the rs should be a larger diameter.

why even bother with it?

because i just bought a RS and it will not blow off, no matter what setting i have it on. and yes, it was installed correctly.

the stronger spring is the cause of this. i am only running 7psi of boost so it wont blow off

where have you tee'd off for a vacuum source for the bov? try a stronger vacuum source, loosen the adjusting bolt all the way.ts not really a stronger spring, only one with a larger diamter, not height or coils, therfore the spring rate shouldnt change

and you said it yourself you heard a long drawn out whistle... thats the sound it makes at low boost levels, trust me

at high psi levels, the rs sounds like a rfl. at low boost is whistles. you just dont like the way it sounds. all of the sounds clips i have seen of low boost turbo kits with a type-s or rs just sound like a spacebird.

there should be a faint whistle, not a pronounced one.

also remember the rs has the holes machined on the discharge so its going to draw in surrounding air. which will quiet down the bov some, making more of a woosh sound at first then a slight whistle. 7psi i wouldnt expect any bov to be loud, unless its an hks or rfl
