Default Vitara's handle abuse?

hey how much abuse can vitara's really take? going to the track can you run your car all day or would the vitara's not be able to handle the heat? I know a Good tune is a must, but im just wondering about the pistons being able to handle constant runs.. or is it worth going forged pistons? im sticking with the stock sleeves and only hoping for 400hp thats why im wondering if should go with vitara's or forged? ill also be using eagle rods. what would be better for turbo setup 75 or 75.5

d16y7..sohc

any input would be nice

ONLY 400 with your D??

sure, Vitaras have made that much...but do you really trust a cast piston to hold up to that abuse for a long period of time?

save yourself from being paranoid, go forged if you want that much power

yea i dont plan to go over 400 with the stock sleeves, iv seen vitaras go over 400 but wanted to know if they can handle the constant runs and if anyone had experience with them. what would be some forged pistons for 1.6 sohc that decent in price? but good quality

My Vitaras have seem to be taking some abuse well, i'm quite surprissed actually. Next time around though i'm gonna do forged slugs just b/c i can never get enough of a good thing.

it all depends on your budget, but expect to spend about $400 or so for entry level forged pistons and rings.

I drove my car with them for 2yrs at 18PSI Daily 24/7 on pump gas. The car still runs with vitaras today after 2 yrs(i sold the car). It was street and track run, average of 6-7 track runs per visit...sometimes 10-11 runs in a 3 hr period..I never ran with Race gas while turboed..NEVER my car saw more than 93octanes with the vitaras in there.

2-3 times a month i would do a 2 1/2 hr trip to visit my parents. 50% of the trip was going up and down the mountais where i boosted going up. to pas other cars and sometimes to have fun with other cars that wanted to play(New Lexus IS 350 comes to mind )

My car overheated sometimes due to the stock Radiator(at the begining), my coolant lines exploded once, My bolts on the turbo and WG backed out..My DP once fell on the street while driving the car, my charge pipes popped off sometimes during pulls,my First MBC broke and made my car overboost to 26PSI a couple of times(Oviously w/o having the right tune to handle 26PSI), My turbo seals gave up, i had to replace the clutch once....

... ... ... But never never ever..Had a single prblem with the vitaras.. They STILL stand strong in the car.
