Default UBERdata question

Ok I've always wondered how Uberdata worked...

Do I first burn a chip with a BURNER and put it in a p28 or obd1 rechipped ecu? Then dyno the engine setup with that chipped ECU??? If it doesn't work out good on the dyno. I can remap(fix the fuel/ign number in each cell) with Uberdata and then reburn the chip...put the chip back into the ecu and then REDYNO???

are those the steps I need to take or what???

I am used to AEM EMS where you tune right there right away type of deal!!! No kind of burning chips, etc etc....

Let me know as I might try Uberdata...haha it's free right!!!!

I also checked on the uberdata.com site and they don't tell you how exactly the system works...very broad details only..

PLEASE HELP!!!

uberdata is basically a computer software that lets you alter the fuel and ignition maps (as well as other features), and then save all that information onto a "chip". but yeah, you're mostly correct.

What the first two meant to say is YOUR DEAD ON.

Some uberpeople are developing a cable to be hooked into the socket that will allow you to tune in real time. Expect to see something involving that, hopefully sometime soon, for around $150.

you pretty much got it right. Except i would get a wideband rather than spending money on dyno time. With a wideband you can do datalogging too with uber.

I think you mean "permanently". The Romulator supposedly doesn't save things after it's powered off, or at least it isn't guaranteed to save them.

What would happen if your laptop crapped out will you were using it to emulate the program?

Dunno

A search on uberforum for real time tuning and other such words would give you the proper threads to ask that. I'm sure they'd love to cover that one

I dont know if its like a real time chip burning, or if you just use the laptop to tune then burn a final chip.

man using a romulator would make things so much easier. I found my self spending a lot of timing having to shut the car off, tune the maps, and then reburn another chip before logging again.

My buddy used his romulator both times I had my car tuned on the dyno. This was way back like 9 months ago using Uberdata 1.63 and the last time using Uberdata 1.65 re-pack 3. I have recently switched my maps to Uberdata 1.66 and everything is going great.
