Default Twin turbo...how does it work?

dont flame me cuz this is a valid tech question and i always wanted to know how twin turbo worked? is one bigger than the other for covering low and high end torque? or just has 2 for more kicks? i always wanted to ask this but i didnt wanted to get flames...

they are configured different ways on different cars but most production twin turbo import cars run a sequential setup where 1 spools first and the other later in the powerband. the turbos can be the same size and spool up can be controlled by the wastegate.

maybe someone with rx7 or supra experience can chime in and explain how its controlled. i know the rx7 has a rats nest of vacuum lines to control the sequential setup. most guys rip that out and go single turbo for racing.
