So since theres noone really around me that can tune. I am really considering learning how to tune and what not. I always have been interested in tuning as a hobby. Street tuning at that. I want to know from you AEM/HONDATA/CHROME/NEPTUNE ETC tuners how you like it and how hard it was to get into tuning and where do you recomend to get all the connections (datalogging/software etc)? let me know

Download the manual for whatever route your looking to use to tune (Hondata, AEM, etc.) and if you can't comprehend one thing in the manual you have learning to do. Go to Amazon.com and buy some books on tuning. Buy a wideband. Learn how to use it. Buy a laptop if you don't have one already. Blah blah blah blah.

Once you've tuned a couple different vehicles using different applications you can tune virtually anything. Different software, different terms, but you're still doing the same thing.

I've used so far... HPTuners, SCT, DiabloSport, Hondata, AEM EMS, FAST, SplitSecond R4, and last but not least Holley and Weber.

PGMFI.org is a good start, be prepared to do your own research and reading so that you can ask intelligent questions. And also, if you do decide to use Crome, make sure to be able to spell it correctly.

solid advice! search and read, there is also a few good book out there. if your looking to save money just pay a competent tuner that is as "cheap" as it gets!

be prepare for lots of trial and error! The learning curve is long at the beginning...but after you start doing it, hooking up usb ports, opening maps, preparing base maps, getting your laptop to work with the ecu etc...it will become much easier....BUT you will be frustrated when learning hahah...just be patient!

im already some what frustrated from reading up the last couple days. But im definately learning. yea i searched some, but i really wanted to get some new advice from the tuneres now. Thanks again guys

helps me at least understand. Now i am going to see if i want to really consider doing this or just getting it tuned and doing it as a hobby and slowly progress.
