Turbo shaft play?

I have a brand new GT40R turbo and it has a very little minor up and down shaft play. Is this normal on a brand new garrett gt bb turbos? thanks.

wow, yours got shaft play to. I got new gt35r and mine move alittle too. Anyone know if it is normal????

usually some shaft play is normal.

saying that turbo has shaft play is very subjective because a little shaft play to you could be normal to someone else....

Every turbo has a little bit of play because there has to be room for the oil to get into the bearings...if its new, brand name and from a good vendor, i wouldn't think twice about it....
