How much is tiny? Normal bearing'd turbos will always have a little bit of play because there is space in the bearing without oil pressure.

Very little. I have to apply a legitimate amount of force to move it...easier with one hand on each side.

I have that same problem, but I bought mine with about 2000miles on it... they said that it didn't have any shaft play/wobble, but when I tried it... it has a little tiny bit, and I have to put some pressure on it aswell.... thats normal???

Thanks

Same turbo Garret t3/to4e.

i have never seen a turbo that had absolutley ZERO shaft play. eveyr turbo i have seen had a tad bit of shaft play when moved from side to side. but no turbo should have shaft play when moved in and out

and some turbos use a different cartridge bearing type that will have some free play due to the design, especially without oil pressure...

seems perfectly fine, alot of turbos come with minimalplay for the reasons kpt4321 mentioned

that has a lot to do with its ball bearing nature...most center cartridges are fluid-based thrust bearings.
