Shaft play from new bw s362 turbo???
I just got my new bw s362 ett and it has a lot of shaft play. I ordered from a website on the internet so it is not second hand or anything, it supposed to be new. I have had two precision turbos in the past that were brand new and they did not have shaft play. This one has quite a bit, but no in/out shaft play. Is that normal from a bullseye turbo?

If you are familiar with the play a brand new turbo has, which is very minimal, I would say you have a right to ask for a replacement.

YES. Guys.. a lot of these are normal over 0.017" is normal for axial "play". Please remember that these are still journal bearing units and since they use a big shaft require a bit of that "play" in order for the oil to balance the rotation of the turbocharger during operation. I've had many people ask this, when it is normal.
Having said that. if it is more than a couple of millimeters movement, drop in a bit of oil and rotate the assembly, (as they come rather dry) and see if the problem isn't solved.
Also remember, that a -4AN feed line is recommended due to the large size of the turbine shaft/wheel from that production line
