well 6 is to hot 7 should work for 400hp

Brand new honda FROM THE FACTORY/PARTS DEPARTMENT? Or you put 1000 miles on what you thought was a low mileage one to begin with?

I've had a few people with issues like this saying they have a "new" distributor, when it was actually a used replacement from another car with unknown miles on it and only put 1000 miles on it since. Just trying to be clear here.

Check rotor screw. My buddys D16 ROTOR screw fell off twice on him. It would break up under load at high rpms.

The shop said it was brand new. That's all I was told

Hmm. Unfortunate that your only evidence was what you were told and nothing to prove otherwise, if it didn't come in a box.

Well, ok.. At this point its neither here, until you actually check the ignitor and ICM. After that, change plugs, looks for other signs of issues. could even be the way the car was tuned.

It's gotta be either fuel or spark. I'm kinda leaning toward fuel for now. I guess we,ll find out
