I seriously doubt it. I have a 90 in my drain line too and never had a problem.

If I were you I would:
1) replace your oil feed to a -3an
2) get a 45 degree bend
3) and possibly reclock your oil drain section (not more than 30 degrees) to give yourself a better angle for the drain hose so you wont have to retap the pan.

every car is different....what may be a problem for one car, may not be on another car. I think the general concensus is that 90 degrees is too sharp.

The only way I can replace the fitting is if I were to clock the turbo so the 45 wouldnt drop the return line down.

I dont know if you fixed your problem yet but i have some info for you i just went thru the same stuff with my zc t3-t4 i had the turbo rebuilt 3 times and still had smoke and raw oil coming out of the down pipe the only way it would stop was if i pinched off the feed line then the oil stopped coming out of the down pipe i know they say you should never run the car with no oil to the turbo try taking off the down pipe and watching the wheel see if you have clean raw oil coming out if so its your turbo then try pinching off the feed you have to do what you have to do to find the problem any way the rebuilder ended up replacing my whole center section of my turbo they say my old one does not seem to be out of spec but i have no burning oil now this took me over a year to fix i tried a smaller feed line a larger return diffrent angles an oil restricter non of that stuff fixed the problem i now have a -3 feed line and a -12 return that i didnt need so i hope i helped good luck

Yeah, I fixed the problem. It was the turbo seals.
