Default Is my turbo done for?

Well, i was stupid, and couldn;t clock my turbo so i left it be. Which left the oil feed and drain on opposite spots. Oil drain was on top, and i wanted to see how that would do. I didn't even thnk that the oil could get backed up. Anyway, i didnt drive the car that much, and did not past 4k rpm. I took off the turbo today and there was oil in it, and i dumped it out, are my seals done? Or could I get lucky, and I just got the turbo just intime and there is oil in it bc it didn't drain?

well it was smoking because it wasnt clocked right, but i took it off as soon as i knew it wasnt draining the oil like it should. I dont think the seals are blown, and think i saved it just in time. But i just wanted to ask.

Def. The thing is, it's seized up sooo bad on the turbine housing, i cant clock it for anything. That is why i put it on and see what it would do.(stupid move i know).

How did you hit it? I heated it up with those torches from Lowes, hammered with a rubber malet, and still didn't go. Did you hammer it to where the housing spins? Or did you hammer it to where it completely breaks off the center section?

I take it you DID loosen the bolts before trying to hammer it around?

yes, i loosened them to where i can spin them freely, heated it up many times, beat it, and it still didn't budge.

have you tried using some WD-40 or anything like that? You must use the force young skywalker! but the turbine housing in a vice and pull from the compressor side if you must, sounds like a junk yard turbo anyways...

Used PB blaster on it, didnt do anything. Turbo is not a junkyard one, it is a precision turbo.

It's used, but i got it from a reputable guy here locally. He's the one who tunes everyone's honda's. It's a good turbo, but the damn thing won't budge. I say [freak] it and ill be better off with an eBay turbo. LOL

Use a ford wrench. It is always a guaranteed fix for everything.

If you don't know what a Ford wrench is, it's a 5lb sledge.

Well a buddy of mine finally got it to budge. The turbine housing is off. My next question is.....Is there any way to tell if any seals are broken or gone out while the housing is off?

ah ok. Well it looks to be in good condition still. Just a bit of oil and such from when i had it clocked wrong. I believe i saved it just in time. Just wanted to double check if i could see any problems and such. Thanks for info though.
