turbo not spinning
we just finished setting up the drag 3 on my car...after everything was done we started up the car, the turbo seemed to be spinning very slow, afterwards we revved it up via throttle rotor, the turbo started spinning quickly. next time we started it up, the turbo wasnt spinning at all. we shut down the car and tried to move the blades by hand, they were stuck! wouldnt budge at all. my friend thinks the cartridge might be misaligned(didnt kno what he was talkin about) and he could fix it ...or if it wasnt that the turbo is defective. what do u guys think? we checked the oil feed and oil return lines and oil is getting through..so please help. thanks.

Re: turbo not spinning (CleanSi)
Did you prep the oil feed line before setting it up to the turbo? (did you crank the motor until oil came out first?)

Re: turbo not spinning (turbo01gsr)
when you say drain, I'm thinking out of the bottom of the oil pan, is that what you mean? What I'm talking about has t do with the steel braided line that connects to the oil pressure sending unit on the back of the block. You crank the motor until oil comes out of the steel braided line on the open end, then you connect it to the turbo, did you do that?

if you havent run the car yet, it shouldn't have frozen due to the oil. I'd bet something fell into the exhaust housing, i.e. a nut or bolt. Unless its used, then you may never know for sure.
