Default Re: Turbo LS Cams Crane vs. Crower ...the saga continues (2.0L Turbo)

This is my personal opinion: Don't look to Crane for any original thought in the import market. Ever since the board of directors threw Harvey Crane out of his own company, the real R&D brain force has left. Harvey has one of our B heads right now and is doing some r&d on spring and valve dynamics. I'm looking forward to benefiting from the knowledge he generates.
As for Cranes roller rockers, I feel they are a poor design and would not consider them. They were designed by V-8 guys who are not really educated on DOHC motors and what they like. Anyone feel different?

Thanks for your input, Earl. Yeah, I totally agree about kicking the founder out of his own company...it's all about profits these days. A lot of times, companies fail to realize that the profits should NOT be the goals. Rather, they should be the RESULTS of meeting the goals (quality work/quality product/quality customer service).

The roller rocker arm idea (Ferrea as well as Crane) are horrible. I agree. I haven't heard one positive instance yet...and Ferrea's design has been out for a little over a year.

Either way, the premise of my post was to actually spark some debate, albeit honest, of Non-VTEC cams for turbo duty. Nobody has stepped up to the plate. It's a shame. Guess none of those dude took any Econ classes.
