turbo idea?
Ok, lets not go "flame on" but i had a thought which im sure has been thought of before. Has anyone done or have insight on basically turning a turbo into a procharger? i have a hx35 laying around that i was going to use on a build and never got to it. Anyways, im pretty sure that just removing the turbine side, throwing a thrust bearing and pulley on it will not have it spinning fast enough. I would need a gear set, correct? Lastly, lubrication; because it wouldnt be running off the exhaust gasses you wouldnt really have to worry about oil cooking inside of it, and the housing would stay relatively cool so just plug the drain fill it with a motor or gear oil and plug the top as well? Since the oil wouldnt be under any kind of pressure it should stay in so i doubt that would be a problem. Sound like a sound idea?

Re: turbo idea?
That could potentially work; however, i would keep the oiling system in tact with a feed AND drain setup rather than the gear oil idea. You're really not making anything simpler by doing that anyway. If you can get past the hassle of making a pulley that works and a mounting bracket, you should be in business

Re: turbo idea?
running it off the motor will make it like a supercharger. I doubt it would be possible for the average Joe to do the machining to add a gear setup and have it work reliably and smoothly without very precise tools.
