Oil smell 1st gear boost
Still fighting this problem. After a 1st gear pull with boost then a stop at a light, I SOMETIMES get a burning oil smell, happens at random not all the time only in the event described above.
I need some ideas or opinions
1.compression and leakdown good
2.had valve adjustment 1000 miles ago, valve seals should be good
3.no blowby, endyn setup
4.feed and return good, no oil in piping
5.no smoke or oil smell from exhaust at idle or cruising (no cat)
6.no visible leaks any where
7.no shaft play from turbo
Is it possible for oil to creap by the turbo seals sometimes and not all the times, thats the only idea I got left, but it is a brand new turbo??
If thats the case, should I switch to a thicker oil (10w30 now) and how will it affect spool time???

Re: Oil smell 1st gear boost (Boosted2K)
turbo maybe going bad. check for leaks around the exhaust and compresser housings.
