Default Turbo engine break in

If i get a motor built fresh and plan to turbo it, should I put it in the car and break it in without the turbo installed, or drop everything in together and then break it in?

what I did was break it in naturally aspirated. My reasoning was that this was a freshly built engine and if I'm going to run into any problems, I want it to be as simple as possible to troubleshoot.

This helped out greatly when I ran into an oil consumption issue. It all turned out to be that my rings on #1 were inline, but the bottom line was there were fewer factors to investigate.

All the compression rings and/or oil rings were lined up so oil/compression could travel past the piston..
