Default Turbo for 2000 civic

I have a 2000 civic SI and I want to put turbo in it, but I was wondering what I should do to the engine first so that the engine will handle the trubo kit. Should I get cam gears and stuff?

Your engine should be able to safely handle 6-7 PSI on stock internals. Just my .02.

I heard from someone on this site that doing improved cams, lifters, and headwork like that on a turbo car is not the correct avenue for performance. I would have to search hard for the thread, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

correct. stock honda cams are fine. if you want to run your stock block just get decent size turbo and tune it. if you wanna run past 300whp its recomded you upgrade pistons, rods, rings, and possibly valve springs for higher reving. if you want to go to the limit that you can get sleeves but generally for street use thats not really required.

Can I just take it to any shop to get it tuned, or a specific shop? So I should tune it before I put on the turbo kit, Right?
