Turbo D16A6 CRX, Raised boost and now got problems, Need Diagnosed.
Setup is a d16a6 CRX Si, Mileage is unknown. Its an eBay turbo kit I pieced together for a budget. It was pushing 5 PSI on a T3/T4 Ebay Turbo running a basemap by Xenocron on 450cc DSM injectors. Ran perfect.
Then I installed a boost controller and turned it up to 9 psi. Boosted twice fine then on deceleration it was popping alot and shooting fire. It also sounds different on acceleration kind of louder. (Noticeable since it was already loud due to open downpipe till exhaust comes in). There seems to be a lot of fuel in the exhaust since when parked I rev it and it shoots little fireballs which it didnt before.
I've changed the Distrbutor Rotor and Spark plugs, Gapped @ .28. Still no avail, I turned the boost back to 5 PSI but the engine still sounds louder/more rumblier and feels alot slower. I did a compression test and got 160 across all cylinders so I think thats fine. Any Ideas, PLEASE HELP

adding boost is ok if you are tuned out for it, and if your not well turn it back down and see if it runs ok again.
if it runs ok back at 5psi please save up some coin and get a tune for the higher boost levels its really that important

dude its not tuned for 9psi its tuned for 5. running it at 9 will not only be shitty, but you have a good chance of detonation...

Chris @ xenocron set the tune for 8 psi, but again it was a basemap. Like I said it was turned back down to 5 and just is bogging and a lot of excess fuel in the exhaust now. So any ideas on whats wrong?

BASE map, you said it. Its to get your car running, problems sorted, before getting it TUNED to run properly in boost and out.
BASE maps are typically loaded with fuel
And xenocron is a sellout

Yea I know that but it ran perfectly fine before @ 5 psi and now it won't, Im asking if anyone knows what else to check? I checked the timing tonight with a timing light tonight @ idle and its fine. Im leaning towards checking the manifold tomorrow for cracks since that would explain why its louder. Im gonna also borrow a cap and wires since that's the only part of the ignition I havent checked.
Do map sensors fail under boost?

Turbo running a basemap!
Its clear that problem is your basemap. Get your engine tuned before it blows. Or maybe you should blow it by raising boost without tune just to learn a lesson.

I already know about the tune, Thats not the problem. The engine isnt running fine so there is no need to tune it until it is. IT RAN FINE BEFORE ON 5 PSI and NOW IT ISNT. I'm asking if there is any other tests I could do besides a compression test to see if I messed up something inside.
The BASEMAP WAS ABLE TO LET THE CAR BOOST BEFORE ON 5 PSI JUST FINE, And Now its bogging Heavily. Are you saying the basemap erased itself??? lol

right your engine isnt good now because you ran 9psi on a base map tune man the engine is not hurt because you didn something it didnt like. this is why being tuned for what you wanna run is key before you actually attempt it sad to say but this is a prime example of fail.
fouled plugs
broke ringlands
lifted head
leaned it out
i mean there is a ton of things that could have happend so now its time to take it to a tuner and he will probly hook you up on a dyno and figure it all out.

Problem Solved. Tune had nothing to do with it, Cracked turbo's exhaust side, lol damn ebay turbos haha.
On a side note, I had a DA Integra I also boosted and was running a basemap by xenocron boosting 10 psi and is still running perfectly fine 13k miles later.
I agree it needs and will be tuned but not until everything in the car is correct, besides the basemap was made for an 8psi wastegate and the turbo had an internal 5 psi wastegate which is the only reason I left it @ 5.
