Turbo D16A1 tuning questions.
Well I got the turbo on my 85 Si W/D16A1, went to the track and did a best of 14.5@98mph on 5.5-6psi boost on my street tires. I have known people that have had similar times on the SOHC D16's in the 2G crx's and feel that I should be a bit faster, after reading a little bit in the maximum boost book I have, I have discovered that long duration high lift cams are bad for turbo engines (I am running the JDM CRX ZC cams 135hp version of the ZC's) it supposedly causes a lot of reversion. These cams are just that compared to the original cams, but I think that by advancing the exhaust cam and retarding the Intake cam may cure some of the reversion and produce more power......does anyone have any ideas?

You're able to run stock ignition timing with up to 12 psi of boost?
You should get that thing on a wideband dyno and tune the fuel. There is probably a lot of power to be had there.
The JDM ZC cams are agressive, but I doubt that they are any more agressive than any of the VTEC lobes on the B16A/B18C engines. I had cam gears on my supercharged B16A2 and found the best settings to be at 0,0. A lot of people find that 0,0 works very well (if not best) for stock cams.

I am currently working on a wideband sensor setup so that I can tune it as much as possable without going to a independant system.
http://techedge.com.au/vehicle/wbo2/default.htm
This system is sooo much better than the piece of junk autometer gauge.
I had my cams set at 3deg advanced on the intake side and retarded 2 deg on the exhaust and was running 14.6-.7 then when I turned them to zero I ran the 14.5. My teg cams created alot of low and mid range torque when I had it all motor, scince I get boost at 2k I think these may be better to use, the ZC cams I am running dont really start to breathe till around 4k and from then on its pretty sweet.
I just have to experiment with it I guess.
Also on going to 12psi with no timing problems once for a brief second or 2, I cant really say but I did not pull a code and it pulled hella hard. I had it at 10 psi a few times and held it for a short run (road test) and had no problems but I wouldnt want to leave it for eveyday driving.

Re: Turbo D16A1 tuning questions. (KiddEng)
I havent completed the kit yet, I am still waiting on the rest of the parts to come in. I had my downpipe custom built and had 2 02 sensor bungs installed in it so I can run a universal 1 wire to the ECU and the wideband seperate scince the ECU doesnt know how to read a wideband sensor.
