Turbo d16 or b16-T
I have a 2000 ex, Im trying to decide what to do with my car,
1-Turbo my stock motor or
2- Drop in a b16 and turbo that
My goals are to run low 14 high 13, and my car is a daily driver, so i need something reliable.
My question is is it worth spending 2500 (cdn) on swapping a b16 in, to gain a bit more power. Or should i just tirbo what i have and be done with it.

8 psi with some good tuning, run a t3 with custom manifold. (still be able to keep a/c)
that will be good enough to get you to high 13's with some good tires, driving skills, and a nice clutch.
expect to spend about 3 - 4 g's cnd.
that extra 2500 from the b16 can get you rods, pistons, sleeves...

3-4?? MAN u can even built ur bottom end with that much money. You can hit high low 13's for sure if did it right, hell u mite even hit high 12's. I seen it happen before.
700-800 for sleeving..
500-700 for internal
so at most, for builting the bottom end, its goin to cost 1500, that still gives u 2,500 to get a turbo kit.
i pieced my own turbo kit (brand new turbo t3/t4 .50 trim) plus hondata for 2,400.

Go for the D series
The numbers you want are very easily reachable.
If you ever blow your motor you can pick one up for almost free, instead of spending major cash on a b series!

This is the main reason I stick with a D-series motor.

Re: (whiteef8)
now that im thinking again, if u dont plan to hit 12's or do too much work. Swap a ls motor in there for about $1,000. Then piece a turbo kit for about 1,900. Go either hondata or neptune. that would be anywhere from $400-600 tuned.
Tune it at 7psi and u should hit 13's easily and you not even have to worry about blowing your motor.
this way, you know ur motor is pretty safe, and when that one day comes where u feel the need of speed, just turn up the boost to like 11 and u should hit 12's with a good driver. (need to retune tho)

Re: Turbo d16 or b16-T (SOHC_MShue)
the reason i wrote b16 is cause of the vtec and the short gears, but now i think i have my mind made up. D series it is.

definatly go with d-series, with that extra $2500+ u spend on the b16 u can put forged pistons and rods. and with pistons and rods, u can hit high 12's and still retain daily driver.
