Default The total cost

I have a 99' Integra LS , 5 speed, b18 engine, 80k miles...current stats FYI
stock internals
AEM Cold air
Skunk2 throttlebody
Skunk 2 intake manifold
DC sports headers
Cat Delete
Skunk 2 exhaust
and a bunch of other irrelevant body/suspension mods

Anways I want to take my teg to a shop here in El paso and get it Turbocharged(tuned and everything - something along the lines of your standard $3000 turbo kit with intercooler) hopefully pushing around 7-10 PSI...How much should that run me parts and labor, if I'm not gettign ripped off

if you can work on cars then do it your self if you can. turbo kits especially a good one is pretty much bolt up and a little mods here and there. as for tuning dont attempt unless you know how.

assuming they are going to be charging probably on a labor rate of 75 an hour? i personally install turbo kits for 500 bucks and tune for another 200-300. a shop on the other hand probably spend double that i would think due to overhead. depends on the shop really though.

I am worthless when it comes to anything mechanical unless it's a gun. I will never try to work on cars again.

So If i get a $3,000 turbo kit i should expect to pay about 1500 for installation and tuning... BTW i might be up in CT pretty soon.

A shop would rip you a new one.
If you go to them with a shopping list and have them purchase all the parts, expect the total to be around $ 6000 + $ 1000 for misc parts (and that probably won't even include work on the sleeves). Then add $ 2000 in labor and tuning. After all said and done, getting any kind of warranty on this work is slim. No joke, if you don't know what you are doing, get ready for a new hole.

So buy the turbo kit then have them install and tune it?

Not so fast. If I was a shop owner, I'de not allow people to bring their own bought products for installation. If I was going to offer any kind of warranty it would be only on the products that I buy and install. So, the question you have to ask yourself is .. would the shop accept my products for installation, tuning, and warranty ?

I wouldn't expect a shop to give me a warranty. I want to do all of this without spending more than 5 G's.
