Default too small of a turbine wheel

Would too small of a turbine wheel cause power to drop off substantially or simply flatten out?

the exhaust gas wont exert enough force (the larger the wheel diameter, the more torque is exerted) on the turbine to power the much larger compressor side (if ur thinking about puting a small turbine on a huge comoresspr to reduce lag). This will create alot of backpressure and turbulence on the turbine side because you are essentially "stalling" it out (putting too much load on it). I remember reading somewhere on HT a few months back that some DSM guy put an extremely small turbine on a huge compressor and it actually increased turbo lag (and killed top end flow, heh) because the turbine simply didnt have enough torque to turn the massive compressor.

So to answer your question properly, we need to know exactly how big of a mismatch you are talking about. t25 turbine with a T4 compresor?

a t3/4 would be your best bet i would think if you want a large compressor and smaller turbine

well, I have a t3/t4 already in place and I'm using a t4 cojmpressor with a .60 a/r and a t3 turbine with a .63 housing except the wheel is the same as the one from a .48 housing. I switchedc cuz I noticed that my power was really dropping off with the .48 housing (and stage 3 wheel) so I got a .63 on there with the same wheel. Power still seems to be flattening out...actually dropping off when vtec kicks in.

My setup consists of the above mentioned turbo as well as an inline fuel pump, a JRSC FMU, stock injectors, stock ignition, an audi core for the front mount intercoler, an FMAX style manifold, and check valves.

number 1
you cant run a jrsc fmu with stock injec's its a only 5:1 rise rate
you need a 12:1 rise rate with turbo and stock injectors
#2 i have seen them manifold not make power past vtec on many cars if there not running a .82 turbine
