Default Tire spin too much, help...

I have t3/t4 forgot the trim, it didn't lable on the turbo, but it come from a drag kits... Anyways, in 1st, 2nd gears the tire spin so much that my buddy ITR beat me off the line.
Could anyone point me a little bigger turbo than t3/t4 that I could buy to put a little boost lag so my tire didn't spin so much in lower RPM range..

Please not too expensive turbo because i'm little low on cash.. Was looking into sc61. Was that the exactly as the t3/t4????

Thanks a lot any replies..

you probaly need radial tires and lots of practice or you can also buy a apexi avcr and use the gear dependent boost option. Do you have a dyno graph? Why would you want more lag?

btw whats your setup?

well before you go buyin a new turbo. you might want to look into better tires... what tires/profile you running? i had steelies with all season genericrap 175 tread. those spun through all the gears. switched to 205 azenis and it stays planted.

my first advice would be to practice your launches so you drop at a lower RPM.. the turbo isn't spooled until you put load on the engine so the tires shouldn't break loose off the line unless you drop the clutch too hard. my gs-r turbo breaks the tires loose in 1st gear at 7.5k rpm, enough to make chirping noises but those dont slow you down much. what you need to watch out for is large amounts of wheel spin that kick the RPM up real fast but you dont go forward very much. if you are spinning after the turbo is spooled and while you are moving, making it lag more won't really help you because its the horsepower thats breaking the tires loose. i think you should try some stickier tires and bigger rims to give you better grip. the bigger wheel circumfrence will give you a larger tire patch and lower final drive ratio which will make it a lot harder to break the tires loose.

I'm going to tune my car next week with this t3/t4 turbo and want to do the tuning once because changing turbo mean changing your map too..(hondata tuning).

You think I be alset for 400hp with just a t3/t4, with some work on launch, better traction tires and alset for the blash right????
Sorry, motor is fully build from bottom to top with 3' turbo back.. LS motor..

not quite for sure but if it came with a drag kit that turbo will probably peter out before 400

Yes..I'm positive it from a drag kit that he bought it for his accord.. He bought the kit from drag, but kreck his car and get rid of everything...

So drag t3/t4 wont push high enough for 400hp????

the drag turbos are t3/t04E trim. that should be more then large enought for most street applications. better tires or a LSD

I hate comments like this. I'm pretty sure English is his second language.

LSD, stickier tires, stiffer suspension especially in the rear. ppl say traction bars help alot but i never tried em.

What your wanting to get a different turbo and you don't even have a LSD.

If you have a programable boost controler you can lower the boost in first gear and have it increase as you speed up.

I personaly use HUGE tires since I got the new motor. SO much nicer to drive on and I can really launch without much tire spin.

Like everybody else said. Practice, better front tires.
You need to find the sweet spot. I launch at 7k rpms at the track on Dr's, but 5k on the street, and I ease out the clutch, don't hammer it...........and go easy on the clutch release on the 1-2 gearshift. Goodluck.

Thanks for replies guys.. I figure practice lauching is top of my street racing list.. So I dont need to upgrade my turbo??? Does drag t3/t4 is good enough for about 350-400hp on the street???

Well I know for sure that too much power for the street, but i'm too late to turn back on low boost now, since I already fully build my motor... "Boostalcoholic"

You should be able to make 350whp+ with the T3/T04E and some good tuning. I would guess you have the 50 or 57 trim?

drag turbos are all "b" trim, not "e".

I wasn't aware, and just for the record... What is the difference between the E and B?

i think it's all in the sizeing, like the "b's' are the smaller, meby older design. and the "e's" are about the middle size and so on...I think.

Have you heard of throttle modulation? It doesn't matter how laggy your turbo is if all you do is plant the pedal.

Tell me more, I have never heard of it before.

I have the DTR Traction bars, they work pretty damn good. And they are the only traction bars that fit a H22 EG. Just barely. Thanks Danny.
