Default boost and 4.73 final drive

Is this a realistic setup? 4.73 and boost anywhere from 4psi to 12 psi? I'm using a D series motor. I wanna do this on a 4dr 88-91 civic with lsd and use this as a street/drag setup. Is this too radical a final drive for boost? I searched the final drive and boost but all I found was hydraulic tranny tegs or swapped civics with b series and hydraulic trannys. Didn't yeild definitive results.
thx

boost will absolutely not work with this gear, you must have the 4.11 final drive JDM in order make any more boost.

If you do run boost, be damn sure you dont run an intercooler, blow off, or waste gate. Running these with your final drive would certainly result in catostrophic destruction of your dog teeth

BUT if you gun blinker fluid injection, you should be fine.

umm, dont take anything serious that me or the blinker fluid guy just said, we were just ****** with ya.

You will just get to that speed that your final drive allows quicker. That is all. Unless the tranny is weaker, the ratio itself does not matter. You will have traction issues with that low a final drive, but you will with any turbo FWD.

I thought gsr's & type r's had 4.7 & 4.9 final drives? IMO, the type R tranny is a damn good street/drag tranny. These owners still run boost.
He's using a LSD. I know this is like comparing apples & oranges but is it really that bad?

i use a us type r tranny with my boosted civic and it took me to a 12.3@116. With 24 inch tires i was hitting rev limiter in 4th gear(8500).

We run aftermarket FD's on our high boost B series motors but that's really only necessary when you're running big slicks on a street car. The main reason we upgrade is for strength but we've still destroyed ProDrive countershafts/ring gears with 700whp+. With less boost/power there's no need to run really tall slicks or need the extra rigidity so I would probably just stick with factory gearing. Just my $0.02 tho
