Default Tial Wastegate stuck open

Alright, so i just recently got my car running after going boost. Well i noticed that at idle exhaust is coming out of my dumptube. I took the dumptube off and sure enough the WG is stuck open.

I bought it used from a member on here. The valve seat is in, i just checked. It is only open about half a cm. I can't get the valve to move up or down when i press on it.

I am going to take apart the WG tomorrow. Anything i should look for? What normally causes this? Faulty WG?

Thanks.

do you have your vacum source hooked into the top or the bottom of the WG ? if its in the top. the valve might open @ idle with a very low psi rated spring in the gate.

sounds like someone used leaded fuel with a pump valve

look for corrosion on the valve stem, or the sweet sweet smell of race gas

Vacuum source is hooked up to the side, i'm not running a boost controller. A 7.5 psi spring is in it.

Honestly, the lower valve stem looks fine, it was just black from carbon.
