no boost, wastegate leak?
Just went for my first couple test runs and my a/f looks good. But i'm not getting much if any boost. I have two questions:
1) my hks bov came with a round check valve? and japanese directions and i didnt put it in. What is this thing? and do i need it?
2) On my tial 38mm wastegate, there is a gap all around the valve while the spring is closed, like a few millimeters... Is this normal or am i missing a piece to my wastegate?
TIA!
(btw ALL charge pipes are good)

There is a ring that sets between the manifold and wastegate that seals off the valve in the wastegate. If it's missing, that's your problem.
Edit:
This isn't my picture, but you can see the ring I'm talking about (below the flanges in the pic)..

Its called a fire ring for some reason, and yes you're missing that, that helps the valve seat correctly and snug, as well and make a snug connection to the flange of the manifold.

I dont have a dumptube yet, so i should have known when i had the exhaust coming out hte dumptube, on me for that. My exhaust guy said that'd happen cause of no dumptube, so i didnt think about it after that. She's quiet for now !
Thanks guys

Nothing should be coming out of the dump port unless your WG is open.
So if that is the case that its open at idle or something, then I the vac lines are backwards.
