Default Throttle and CEL 45/13 problems

After installing a Walbro 255lph high flow fp, 450cc injectors, and running the VAFC hack I have been getting either a CEL 45(too rich/too lean) or a CEL 13(Baro Sensor). The other thing that is strange is that the car bucks a little when I get off the gas at partial throttle(maybe 13% or less)and when I get back on. It's almost like I have to keep my foot on the throttle with the same pressure. If I lift it off slightly, it feels like the fuel has just cut off but then I put my foot on again and it bucks back when I go up to speed. I have tried going to really rich(-30 across on VAFC) and then going to what I perceive as being really lean(-45 across on VAFC), I have even tried a neutral position like -35 and still get either a code 45 or 13. Most of the time its a code 45, I have only once gotten a code 13(this was when I had my Missing Link MAP check valve thingy on).

I've also noticed that when I ease my foot off the throttle gradually, the car will not only buck a little but the Autometer A/F gauge will go all the way to the lean side where you can't see it light up anymore, basically past the red. I only other time I've seen this happen(before the install of the injectors and fp) when I am going at full throttle and when I just let my foot off(not ease off like this time) it will go all the way past red to where it doesn't light up.
If I ease back on it, its like it jumps back into the green, but not all the way to the end of the rich spectrum.

What is the deal here? I have a feeling the reason I am getting the CEL is because the car is going straight into lean, with the car bucking, right after I have started to ease my foot off.

Keep in mind this is when I am at partial throttle and easing my foot off, not a full throttle.

Some additional info:
99-00 Civic EX OBDII.2
The idle fuel pressure is at: 40-42psi
The injector box I am using: 89-91 CRX
I am running a stock fuel pressure regulator

I am going to install an AEM adj. fpr when I get it sometime in the next couple of weeks. Will that help anything if I turn the idle fuel pressure down a little?

Do you have the standard 255 pump or the high pressure?

I have the high pressure pump, not the normal(standard one).

Get a FPR, and not the cheap chop top ones like the B&M. The high pressure fuel pump will raise the idle fuel pressure; it happened to me and I kept throwing a CEL 1 and 45. As for CEL 13, I'm not sure. Hope this helps a little.

Yeah, I tried putting the Missing Link check valve thing on the MAP because there was one instance where i started to get into boost and the CEL came on immediately, so I put the Missing Link on there to see if it would do it. After putting that back on, I threw a CEL 13.

Actually, it was kinda strange because there is this small hill and as I kept the Missing Link on the CEL 13 would come on just as I was climbing the hill. Both times this happened, so I took the Link off and now I only get CEL 45's. I will install the AEM FPR as soon as I get it though.

hey max it's me Marc (CivicOnBoost00). I've been getting the same CELs all day today. The code 13, it's weird. I was talking to Viren (b18bturbo) and he was sayin either loose wires or "too much adjustment" on the afc will cause the code 13. Today something happened that is consistent with the "too much adjustment" theory. I was driving and I figured the car was semi tuned for WOT and it ran rich at part throttle. So while driving I cut back the afc from 3000-5000 rpm by -2%. Halfmile down the road, i threw a code 13. Not sure if this is any help to either of us but it seemed like that's the only consistent factor for me.

It's funny, on mine I have only gotten the CEL 13 once or twice, but that was only when I had the check valve on m MAP for boost(don't ask me why I did it).

Actualy, this is kinda funny, but last night I was running -30 across(to see if I might be running to lean). As I was letting it idle. waiting for the car to warm up it through a CEL 45. So I don't reset the ECU and just adjust the thing to -45 across while I am driving on the freeway. I get home to check the codes and the ECU blinked a code 45 back to back. So I figured I may have gone a bit too far on the trim. So I think it is somewhere in between -40 and -45, but should not be constant across the rpm range. I dunno, I guess I will see what happens when I get the AEM FPR in a week or so.

yah let me know how it goes. I figure the FPR idea will help, along with some dyno time to tune it all out. I hate OBD2.1

If you have a 99-00 EX, you have the OBD2.2 like me. The OBD2.1 for 96-98 civics is actually the less sensitive version. I would much rather have that version in almost all situations. I believe converting to an OBD1 ECU for Hondata would also be easier since there are more harnesses available for converting from OBD2.1 to OBD1 than there are when converting from OBD2.2 to OBD1.
