Throttle body swap? hard start?
i swapped out my d16 TB for a b16 TB when i was doing my build. I had it tuned with the b16 TB and thats the only one that was on the engine since it has started up.
It is flaky when starting. I've asked several questions about it, and still have issues. It starts good in the cold (when the engine is cold) if its warm, or if I have just driven.
I have to hold the gas pedal down all the way then let it back up.
I thought maybe injectors but have tested them 2 different ways with no leaks, so I'm keeping it simple and looking at what the pedal directly affects, the TB plate.
so since I switched it I thought you guys would know best about different TB's on motors. here are some pics to help you guys out.
If i get one of those 70mm OMNI POWER TB's would that change anything? I hate throwing money at stuff if I'm not sure it will fix my issue?

Re: Throttle body swap? hard start?
the throttlebody on the left, the one with the hoses still attached, has a FITV. fast idle throttle valve. it is what allows the car to rev higher than normal when cold.
the one on the right doesnt have that provision. on some cars it is built into the tb, on some it is built into the intake.
i have done many tb swaps to tb's that dont have a fitv, and this happens.
on a side note, the port on the top is for your evaporative emissions. possibly off of a newer car where the canister purge is separate from the charcoal can.
h.t.h.
