GT3076R with a .63 a/r should do you plenty fine. Great mid range responce and plenty of power up top for your application.

Buddies B16 bone stock with gsr cams spools a Super t4/t04e 60 trim with a .69 a/r very well. its very streetable and pulls hard in 1-2 gears and obvioudly harder up in top gears and thats with an LS trans.

if you dont want to spend the money on a GT series then a sc44 or sc51 will better suit what your looking to do

Geoff
Waaaay back in the day when you were building this set up and INSISTENT on running super low compression, stock bore etc etc trying to make an ULTIMATE STREET CAR, I told you I thought it was a bad idea honestly. The gearing is all wrong with the LS trans on a B16A! The motor is small also, short stroke. The Compression being soooo low on a 1.6 liter 77.4mm stroke motor must feel like driving a 3 cylinder Metro towing a Civic man.

I would suggest since I know you won't change compression, go to a B16A would be your best choice UNLESS I can talk to Borg Warner about an alternative for you. Problem is you want the best of both worlds and in racing or engine set ups you give up something for another, give up low end for top end power or top end for low end, always a compromise somewhere.

Unless you TWIN CHARGED your set up now you gotta swap out that tranny or raise compression for throttle response or get a turbo that will be close to what you want BUT not EXACTLY. The Edelbrock mani was made for 7000-10,500 rpm? So that hurts you down low too.

Knowing how you are, you will want what you want and I nor noone else tell you anything Must be the Jamaican in you

low compression and wrong gearing still doesnt explain how a car on street tires isnt spinning the tires in the low gears!! im conviced something else is wrong with the set up or something.

then again that low of compression with that gearing on a small motor......just isnt a very fun street combination.

I kid, I kid.

Here's a question.... How much top end are you willing to sacrifice for more response? Is it not that big of a deal to you to have a turbo that runs out of breath past 9k? What is your ideal powerband (within reason, of course.)? I mean, if you had to make a compromise...

Also, are you running a boost controller? Is your manifold, exhaust housing, or DP coated/wrapped (as appropriate). Air and heat spool the turbo. I understand you can reduce spool time by as much as several hundred rpms just by getting your mani coated to hold in the spooling heat energy. I also know that many kinds of boost controllers will also help spool considerably. Just my thoughts.

Great post, I run a turbosmart boost controller and you can set gate pressure. My turbo spools up aproximatly 1200 sooner by settign the gate pressure to just below my desired psi. With the WG staying closed untill you reach your desired PSi levels esentially your forcing all the exhaust pressure through the turbine instead of half to turbine and half out your wg

Spool by 3k, capable of 500whp on a 1.6L? Is it made with unobtainium?

It is diamond encrusted housings with Platinum and carbon fiber wheels.

In reality we came up with the Borg Warner S256, it has a 56mm inducer, exducer is 78mm with the extended tip being 84mm

Turbine would be a .55 A/R with a wheel similar to a P trim , I am told this set up would spool approx 1000-1500rpm sooner than Geoff's current SC61 and still provide the top end charge he wants. Only one way to find out, GEOFF "SHOW ME DA MONEY!!!!"
