Default good turbo for my gsr(post your setups?)

i currently have a turbo setup in my gsr hatch.. t3/t4 .60 ar not sure on the trim i think its a 57.. my problem is my turbo needs a rebuild and this is my daily driver and i want to buy a new turbo and rebuild mine and sell it (cant have the car undrivable for to more than a day or 2)... what i want is a faster spooling turbo.. nothing crazy fast but a little bit faster... im looking for at or below 250whp and i doubt id ever run more im only running 5.5psi now. id be suprised if i was making 200hp so 250 will be plenty.. so anyone have recomendations for a turbo that isnt the disco potato turbo... that will spool pretty fast but be able to flow at 8000+rpms...? or you can just post some of your setups and around what rpms you start to boost at...

I think you should go with the disco potato, you know you want to.

Maybe you could upgrade (err downgrade) to a T04B which will spool slightly faster. Or maybe a T3 super 60 or something? dont much about either turbo though, but I do know they spool a ltitle faster, and you should still be able to reach 250 WHP with them (it wont be easy though).

screw the disco potato - its over-rated - go for its big bro gt2871r which can flow more and costs less you'd have to be stupid (i will hold back my insults) not to

I am running a straight T4 on my B18 hatch. It spools up nice and quick surprisingly, and revs very high.

Try a .46-trim T04E. That sounds like exactly what you want.

Leave everything else the same, just change the compressor wheel to a .46.

Every where I've looked that has the GT28RS and GT2871R on sale have them both listed at the same price. Atp turbo had the 2871R for about $50 more. You're not thinking about another GT turbo are you?

They both have the same hotside, it's just the GT2871R has the 71mm compressor wheel vs the GT29RS's 60mm compressor wheel. Also if he never plans on going above 300 HP, then the GT28RS should be good enough. However he did say that he doesn't want teh GT28RS afraid to hop on the next H-T bandwagon I guess. So it's either a T3 or maybe a GT28R which costs less then the 28RS and 2871r.

i also forgot to mention i have a revhard manifold with a t3 flange so i guess that limits me alot to what i can buy.. im not sure but the GT28RS isnt based on the t3 right...(gT28rs) just going by the name dont know anything about them... a .46-trim T04E wont work either right ... so now based on the info i failed to supply in the first place anyone have any ideas?

.46 compressor t3/t04e has a t3 turbine housing... will be fine w/ revhard manifold.

ive been looking at the super 60 t3 cheap turbo and seems right for my setup..(stock motor low boost) but ive been told 250whp is 250whp boost wont hurt the motor the hp does.. so with this being said if it takes me more psi to reach my 250hp goal on a super 60 than with the t3/t4 setup i have now .. the boost wont matter.. id like to have around that hp not anything over i wouldnt be disapointed with 240 for example... id like to try to take advantage of the fact that i have a t3/t4 and i could have a super 60 for alot cheaper and use the money left over from selling my t3/t4 for tuning.. ect.. im just not looking for a big hp monster when i like a well balanced car.. when you get up to 300+whp the grip issues im not willing to deal with... thats my basic reasoning behind what im doing here.. i want a responsive turbo... not lag..my last question is around what rpms will i begin to boost...(not full boost) now id say its around 3200.. my boost gauge doesnt even move untill then...
