Default T3/T4 what is this...?

my car was running like **** and we narrowed it down to the turbo, now i bout it used form a drag kit, when i pulled the compressor housing off there is a orange rubber oring that goes around it, but the one on this turbo was to big to fit in the guide for the oring, now is that because its not the right one or could it have expanded and became no good when i removed it? any info will help thanks.

if you were to take off the compressor housing on a t3/t4 and look at the inside of the compressor housing, theres should be a silicone ring, normally orange, it goes around the housing to seal it when you put it back together, but when i took my housing off and silicone ring was too big and didn't fit back into the grove its supposed to. my compressor wheel was hitting the housing slightly and i'm thinking if the kid i bought it from just shoved the wrong one in there that it might have made the housing of set. is this silicone ring supposed to be like this?

The compressor ring should seat snuggly in the groove. If you happened to find a larger piece...it's one or two things: wrong size or the original one was stretched. Go to a reputable turbo repair shop and buy the right o-ring. They are around $3 bucks each. Whatever you do...DO NOT try to put silicone sealant in the groove in place of the o-ring. A dumb guy I know did this and his turbo smokes like a freight train. If you can't find a shop near you let me know and I can give you a number to the guys here. I had to pick one up last time -- FREE of charge!!

what do you mean your car has been running like ****. Turbo's usually don't make cars run like ****. May keep it from making the power it should if the turbo is fubared, but the car would just be a dog, and not run like ****.
